Job Description: We are looking for a highly motivated post-doc to join our research team at the Center for Interdisciplinary research in Biology of the Collège de France (Paris). We study the mechano-chemical processes that produce positional information during embryogenesis, and how these dynamics shape the phenotypic landscape of natural patterns. We take advantage of variation and trends in the avian skin pattern (i.e. feather and colour distribution). The anticipated project aims at uncovering early developmental factors instructing conserved colour pattern domains. It will involve phenotypic surveys, expression analyses, and field work. The ideal candidate has expertise in experimental embryology, molecular biology, imaging and evolutionary genetics.
