The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated researcher for a part-time position focusing on machine learning and cloud computing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including Azure Cloud Services, and leverage a variety of state-of-the-art machine learning libraries and frameworks. Responsibilities will include developing, testing, and analysing the results of machine learning models and cloud-based implementations. This role offers exposure to a wide array of technologies and techniques, including data pipelines, distributed systems, and scalable machine learning solutions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about innovation, highly analytical, and able to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment. Prior experience with cloud platforms, machine learning algorithms, or data science is a must. A strong desire to learn and grow is essential. The CyberMATI Research Team sits within the School of Computing and Digital Technologies and Industry and Innovation Research Institute (I2RI)

You will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team led by world-leading researchers, including Dr. Abdel-Karim Al-Tamimi, a Senior Lecturer in Machine Learning, Dr. Chris Roast, a Reader and an expert in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Dr. Neil Bowden, Innovation Manager, and Dr. James Walsh, IP Manager. The team fosters a collaborative and innovative environment, providing access to world-class facilities and resources. You'll work on a ground-breaking project poised to make a long-lasting impact on the field of cybersecurity, while benefiting from expert mentorship and the opportunity to push the boundaries of both machine learning and cloud computing solutions.
