The National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University is playing a strategic role in developing advanced engineering capability for the food and drink industry, providing a major competitive advantage to this significant sector. Now we're looking for a researcher with strong computer vision and machine learning skills to apply their knowledge and experience to food process engineering, and the assessment of quality of baked products. Working with Rakusen's Limited, the project aims to develop smart and sustainable baking of water biscuits.

You should have, or be working towards a PhD in the field of computer science, computer vision and machine learning with good knowledge of industrial applications. You should have the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, both on projects and as part of a team.
