We seek to recruit a Research Associate in Transition to Net Zero at the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. The appointment is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund – BEAS Programme and is led by Dr Abed Alaswad with the support of academics across EPS and BSS.

This position involves conducting research and knowledge exchange activities independently and as part of a team, utilizing professional expertise. The main goal is to perform assessments for energy intensive companies in the West Midlands and to formulate road mapping to support involved companies towards the Net Zero targets as set by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

We are looking for candidates with a track record in researching energy including on the transition to sustainable energy and shifting from fossil- based systems of energy production and consumption. In addition, the role will involve developing research outputs and supporting impact case studies.
