Occupational Summary

Our research centers around natural genetic variation in fungal species, and we seek to characterize genes and alleles contributing to virulence in fungal pathogens. We employ various laboratory and bioinformatics methods, such as QTL analysis, genomic sequencing, gene manipulation, phenotyping, and gene expression analysis.

Our lab seeks to hire a Research Technician II with a Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related discipline to support research on virulence and drug resistance in fungal pathogens and fungal predation by amoebae. This is an ideal position for a recently graduated student interested in lab experience before graduate school or a career in biotech.

A successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, self- motivated and possess excellent communication skills. Experience with standard techniques used in fungal research and gene manipulation is desirable but not essential.
