Position Summary

The post of Project Manager (ASEM LLL Hub) a full time post, reporting to the Chair of the ASEM LLL Hub/Director of ACE. With the support of the Government of Ireland (Department of Further & Higher Education and Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade) ACE is hosting the ASEM Education and Research Hub for Lifelong Learning (ASEM LLL Hub) for the period 2020-2025 and requires a candidate to lead this project. ASEM LLL Hub sits within the ASEM education process which is an international platform for dialogue and cooperation for Ministries of Education from 51 countries, the European Union, the ASEAN Secretariat and international stakeholder organisations such as the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), UNESCO, IUA, ENQA, ESU, EURASHE. The Hub has more than 100 research teams in its seven research networks (RNs) across Asia and Europe that offer research-based policy recommendations, and develop mutual understanding between Asia and Europe.

The ASEM LLL Hub team based at Adult Continuing Education (ACE) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated professional, with a proven track record of project management to a high standard in an international context, to drive the ASEM LLL Hub project. The post-holder will be the operational lead in key events and activities connected to the ASEM LLL Hub.

The main responsibilities and duties of these posts will be:

• To work closely with partners across the ASEM community including senior researchers, ministry officials, international governmental and non- governmental organisations in Asia and Europe;

• To lead the dissemination and publicity activities of the ASEM LLL Hub aimed at relevant partners and stakeholders in Asia and Europe;

• To take responsibility for key activities of the ASEM LLL Hub under the direction of the Chair;

• To support the activities of the Research Networks (RNs) by helping them to organise events, meetings, seminars, webinars etc, and assist RNs in the publication and dissemination of results and in extending their networks;

• To represent the ASEM LLL Hub at various national and international events;

• To drive the overall ASEM LLL Hub project to achieve its goals and objectives set out in the project workplan;

• To take responsibility for leading annual reporting processes in collaboration with the Chair;

• To ensure good communication between the ASEM LLL Hub and key officials of the Department of Further & Higher Education and the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade.

General

• To perform all duties with enthusiasm, discretion, tact, diplomacy, confidentially and professionalism ;

• To work flexibly, as required, in order to ensure the successful delivery of part-time continuing education programmes/the smooth running of the ASEM LLL Hub across a range of time zones, subject to contracted working hours and compliance with the Organisation Working Time Act 1997.

Occasional Duties and Responsibilities:

To undertake other appropriate duties as assigned.
