Research Support Officer-Administration, Insight Centre for Data Analytics & the SFI Centre for Research Training (CRT) in Artificial Intelligence

Applications are invited for the post of Research Support Officer (Admin) to join the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics, based at the School of Computer Science and Information Technology, University College Cork, Ireland. The position holder will work as Research Support Officer (Admin) within the admin offices of the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics and the SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence and support duties as assigned by the Director of Insight Centre for Data Analytics.
The role supports the administrative running of the SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence with the support of Programme Manager, Janet Choi. This role will involve assisting the financial management of the award including financial reporting to both entities. Procurement of products & services for the smooth running of the PhD researchers' programme and Investigator Cohorts. Assisting with PhD recruitment, on-boarding and in-house support for student development needs and training, whilst ensuring all UCC and SFI T&C's and related policies are adhered to and met. Assisting with UCC and Funding agency metric reporting requirements for both Centres. As both SFI Centres are National Centres and have students and Investigators in most of the third level institutions across Ireland, the role will involve liaising and working with other administrators, PhD researchers and academics from other universities across Ireland.
The role will also involve working with Prof. O'Sullivan in delivering research administration support in the management of his Centre Directorship and Leadership duties which are local, national and international in scale. A part of this role within the Insight Centre will be in metrics monitoring and reporting locally and to the Central Operations Team.
About The Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics
The Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics (https:// www. insight- centre.org) is an SFI funded Research Centre that brings together researchers from University College Dublin, NUI Galway, University College Cork, and Dublin City University, as well as other partner institutions, Trinity College Dublin (TCD), University of Limerick (UL), Maynooth University (MU) and Tyndall National Institute. It creates a critical mass of more than 400 researchers from Ireland's leading ICT clusters to carry out research on a new generation of data analytics technologies in a number of key application domain areas, such as Health and Human Performance, Smart Communities, Internet of Things, Enterprise and Services and Sustainability and Operations.
About the SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence
This centre is a joint initiative between University College Cork, Dublin City University, University of Galway, Trinity College Dublin, and the University of Limerick. We offer fully-funded PhD scholarships inclusive of fees, a monthly stipend, and a budget for travel and training. We will produce 120 PhD graduates in the field of artificial intelligence in a world-class cohort- based model, working closely with industry and international academic partners. Every student taking part in the programme will spend a number of internships with industry partners or at international partner laboratories.
This centre aims to create an internationally connected and globally recognised centre of excellence for the training of postgraduate students and the up-skilling of industry-based staff in key technical topics in artificial intelligence. The initiative will provide training in areas related to ethics in artificial intelligence and data analytics, as well as challenges in fairness and transparency of advanced data-driven applications.
