Research Support Officer Administration, APC Microbiome Ireland

0.8 FTE, 1.5 Years, Fixed-Term, Part-time Post

Position Summary:

APC Microbiome Ireland (APC) is a Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre which has secured over €200 million in research funding since its foundation in 2003. Funding comes from a variety of sources including SFI, other national funding agencies, the European Framework programmes, philanthropic sources and charitable foundations, and industry. The APC is a seamless collaboration of 300 researchers, managers and support staff distributed across UCC, Teagasc, NUIG and various other academic institutions across the country. All APC personnel play an active role in communicating our exciting research with non- scientific audiences, and engaging with patient groups, the public, as well as young people to facilitate future generations to develop an understanding of the scientific issues that affect society. APC recognises that even greater scientific advances can be achieved with the support and involvement of kay stakeholders, including an informed public, and is therefore fully committed to the principles of Education and Public Engagement (EPE). We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and dynamic candidate to join the APC's operations team as EPE Officer to help drive and deliver our EPE programme. UCC is an accredited research organisation and as such can form hosting agreements with third country nationals (and non-EEA nationals) for the purpose of conducting research in the University.
