We are a team of passionate researchers and research support staff who make up the First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research (FNCWR) team. We work collaboratively with communities and the community-controlled health sector to deliver equitable health and wellbeing for First Nations peoples.
Our team leads diverse, innovative research projects under the FNCWR Program, addressing a range of health challenges related to cancer and wellbeing. The FNCWR Program is supported through major competitive funding including NHMRC, MRFF and ARC grants. We are committed to privileging First Nations experiences and perspectives in our research, and to implementing research methods to ensure cultural-appropriateness and responsiveness.
The Research Strategy Program Manager is responsible for the provision of high quality strategic and administrative services to ensure the growth, development and sustainability of the First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research (FNCWR) Program. This position supports the Program Lead and broader research team to grow the programs research endeavours and outputs and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities include physical resource, financial, administrative and staff management, development and implementation of systems and processes to ensure efficiency in research operations, and the provision of expert advice and guidance on the development and implementation of strategies to maximise research outcomes and partnerships for the FNCWR program.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for up to 3 years.
At HEW Level 9, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range of $127,496.67 to $134,829.23 plus a generous super allowance of 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $149,171.11 to $157,750.20 per annum. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.
About YouPostgraduate qualifications in management or public health degree; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
Extensive knowledge of relevant industry and Australian competitive granting schemes, including NHMRC, MRFF and ARC, an experience in managing pre award and post award research funding.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning, policy formulation and implementation of strategies.
Demonstrated ability to manage, analyse and report on research program budgets, timelines and deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to manage staff to achieve a high standard of performance, skills development and productivity.
Demonstrated research facilitation skills, with the ability to identify relevant research linkages and facilitate communication among diverse groups of research stakeholders including industry partners and government agencies.
High level time-management skills, self-motivation with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to work under time pressure on multiple initiatives concurrently.
