Academic Cooperation and Research Support Office (ACRO)'s mission is to purposefully connect teaching, research, funding and management in line with CEU strategic priorities. We do this through establishing beneficial and sustainable partnerships; encouraging and supporting CEU academic staff in their research activities, including obtaining internal and external funding; acting as interface between academic and administrative partners and thus successfully and efficiently coordinating complex tasks related to project management; and contributing to doctoral education with special focus on improving employability through acquiring teaching, research and project management skills. Our team is located in two cities, Budapest and Vienna.

ACRO wishes to appoint an outstanding person to fill the position of a part- time (20 hrs/week) Research Projects Assistant in Budapest.

Main responsibilities

  • Supporting the financial management of research projects funded by the European Commission. The successful candidate will be provided the relevant training and practice. Daily tasks will include the maintenance of multiple databases, checking and filing documents and payment forms, liaising with administrative units of the university.
  • Assistance to the Vice-President for Academic Cooperation and Research Management in scheduling meetings and organizing events.
  • General office duties like ordering supplies.
  • Managing ACRO's Facebook page and website.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Hungarian and English. Knowledge of German at an elementary level is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, management of databases and use of social media;
  • Attention to detail, ability to work as a part of a team, positive personality and strong work ethic.
  • Affinity for numbers, precision, structured thinking and pro-activity;
  • Previous experience in higher education administration or experience in studying or working in an international and multi-cultural environment is a plus;
  • Experience in a similar position may be an advantage but recent graduates are also welcome.

    Compensation

    We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment.

    This position is advertised for one year with a possibility of renewal.
