About the Role

The Research Officer within the FEIT Research Services team will focus on bolstering the faculty's engagement in competitive grant schemes and interdisciplinary initiatives, particularly supporting ARC and government grant schemes. The role aims to enhance the competitiveness of research proposals aligned with FEIT's growth targets, while also delivering comprehensive research support services including educational activities, coordinating prizes and awards, monitoring research impact, and facilitating internal and external research communication. Additionally, the position will provide crucial support to academics in submitting high-quality research proposals and assists the broader team during large scheme rounds as needed.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Support the planning and organisation of, seminars, workshops, academic mentoring programs.
  • With other Research Officers, coordinate academic research induction programs for new academic staff
  • Support analysis of outcomes of major funding schemes to contribute to the development of new support programs or the improvement of existing ones
  • Who We Are Looking For

    You will possess excellent organisational skills, adept at prioritising tasks and managing projects under tight deadlines. Additionally, you should demonstrate flexibility, analytical problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and exhibit high levels of self- motivation, creativity, and sound judgement.

    You will also have:

  • A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide sound advice to staff on writing about research and its impact.
  • A critical eye for detail, particularly as it relates to funder rules and guidelines and other compliance measures
