    The Opportunity

    Embark on a transformative journey as a Research Officer within Monash Rural Health, contributing to the innovative MIXMAX program. This position, offering four available roles, funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council, encompasses prospective studies on individuals injecting drugs and smoking methamphetamine in Melbourne and regional Victoria. Operating until the end of 2028, the Research Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the MIXMAX program research outcomes.

    This position will be engaged in diverse tasks including scheduling bookings, conducting interviews using computerized data collection forms and performing clinical testing such as venous blood samples and spirometry tests. Other requirements include staying updated on developments, activities and protocols through active communication with peers, attending meetings and participating in seminars. The position also offers the opportunity for continuous learning, with training provided in various aspects, including phlebotomy and spirometry.

    We are seeking someone who holds a tertiary qualification in a relevant field or possess substantial skills and work experience, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a capacity to engage professionally with stakeholders, particularly in dealing with marginalized individuals.
