Applications are invited for the post of Research Laboratory Technician within the University of Cambridge's Department of Clinical Neurosciences based at the van Geest Centre for Brain Repair on the Addenbrookes Biomedical campus.
This is a unique opportunity to join the NHS England Stickler Syndrome Highly Specialised Service. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Research Technician with a keen interest in delivering outstanding laboratory analysis to improve patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will be assisting the Senior Scientist for the NHSE Stickler Syndrome Highly Specialised Service in providing molecular genetic analysis for families and patients with this disorder. Key duties will encompass DNA amplification, gel analysis, mini-gene construction, cell culture and transfection, RNA isolation and rt-PCR. Experience in these techniques is desirable but tuition will also be provided as part of the induction training.
