The NDM Grant Management Team are an ambitious and supportive group, delivering high quality, professional project support across NDM. We have an exciting opportunity a Research Grants Manager to work alongside researchers at the leading edge of science in the largest medical department at Oxford, the Nuffield Department of Medicine, offering an excellent opportunity for career progression in Research Administration.

You will be responsible for the overall research grant management process of an NDM project portfolio including proactively meeting with any grant holders and their business manager within the allocated portfolio, actively managing the administration that underpins collaborations with other institution both in the UK and overseas, and providing additional support as required. You will be representing NDM at meetings to understand the broader research funding landscape and liaise with external funders, as required, and maintain an up-to date knowledge of major funding bodies terms and conditions.

This position also includes delivering training to relevant Professional Services staff as requested, and support with the ongoing training of Senior Grants Officer, Grants Officer and Apprentices within the team. You will implement processes and procedures within your portfolio to ensure compliance with University policies, and provide cover for other Research Grant Managers as required.

It is essential that you are educated to degree level or equivalent together with related experience ideally in the higher education sector or research environment. You will have a working knowledge of the major funding bodies, and of current issues affecting the research funding sector. You will have demonstrable skills in effective people management and the ability to support, develop and motivate staff. Additionally, you will have excellent numeracy skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Prior experience of Oracle Financials software or other financial software is desirable.
