  • About ARU:

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

ARU's research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

About the new equalities research centre:

The new Centre for Equalities in Uniformed Public Services is a £11.3 million investment in uniformed public services research by UKRI and represents a substantial increase in ARU's research capacity. Key objectives of the new Centre include producing excellent underpinning research into cultural transformation in uniformed public services, and adopting a strongly collaborative approach with local, regional, and national uniformed public services organisations to tacking issues around equality, diversity, and inclusion. The new Centre brings together the strengths of two of ARU's existing outstanding Research Institutes (the Veterans and Families Institute (VFI) and the Policing Institute for the Eastern Region (PIER)).

    About the Role:

The Research and Innovation Development Office (RIDO) provides a focal point to support a significant planned increase in our research capacity and effectiveness. The Research Funding and Impact Manager role will work closely with the leadership and staff of our new Centre. You will support the Research Funding and Impact Manager in growing our excellent research with impact, identifying grant funding opportunities and facilitating multi-disciplinary research collaborations by ensuring grants applications meet funder requirements and are appropriately costed. The new Centre will have a strongly collaborative approach with local, regional, and national uniformed public services organisations to tackle issues around equality, diversity, and inclusion. You will also include work to support both PIER and the VFI.

You will have degree and with alongside experience of supporting funding applications in a UK HE environment. You will be highly numerate and have a sound knowledge of UK, EU and international funding streams that support social sciences research, and be comfortable working with academic and professional services colleagues, and partners across all levels of the organisation.

This post offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and high calibre research support professional to join our excellent Research and Innovation Development Office and be at the heart of this important new Centre.

Informal enquiries can be made to Jenny Young, Deputy Director of RIDO at [email protected]
