The position of Research Fellow requires specialised expertise in centre management systems, with a primary focus on developing educational policies and procedures to enhance community outreach efforts at Curtin Node. The selected candidate will be responsible for actively participating in the formulation and oversight of research frameworks essential to Curtin Node's research projects. They will also need to contribute to the 'Communications in Early Childhood' National Collaboration project. As a Research Fellow, the role also involves coordinating community outreach initiatives, as well as organising and managing events and projects within Curtin Node. The ideal candidate should have expertise and experience in early childhood research and digital technologies, which will complement the multifaceted requirements of the position and contribute to Curtin Node's research initiatives' success.

Some of the Duties of the position:

  • Undertake nationally competitive and high-quality research in your field of expertise.
  • Develop a clear and cohesive research program, which should be agreed through the WPPR process.
  • Act as a co-investigator or chief investigator in applications for competitive funding.
  • Disseminate research findings by conducting seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Publish or exhibit in high-quality refereed journals or outlets, in a manner consistent with disciplinary practices.
  • Provide effective supervision to research honours, research masters, and research doctoral students.
  • Aspire to be nationally recognized for your research in the field.
  • Undertake administrative functions associated with research activities.

    Essential

  • A doctoral qualification in relevant discipline.
  • Evidence of a record of research outputs/creative works in high-quality refereed journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
  • Evidence of quality and impact of research outputs/creative works including journal ranking, citation indices, patents awarded, reputation and standing of publishing house or other outlets, independent review from distinguished scholars or critics, or equivalent esteem measures as appropriate to the discipline.
  • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
  • Desirable

  • Commitment to quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise HDR students
