Salary: UH7 £37,099 to £44,263pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield, Hertfordshire

Are you a high performing Early Career Researcher on a trajectory to becoming a future research leader? The Centre for Research in Public Health and Community Care (CRIPACC) in the School of Health and Social Work is investing in its research staff and infrastructure with two Early Career Researcher posts, to assist in the further growth of research excellence and collaboration.

The two appointed Early Career Research Fellows will be based within CRIPACC. Centre staff can work remotely but the successful applicants must be prepared to travel to the University when required and to travel as necessary to undertake their research responsibilities.

Main duties and responsibilities

We are seeking two ambitious Research Fellows to develop research within one or more of our key areas of research activity:

• Communities, Young People and Family Lives

• Place Based Ageing

• Patient Experience and Public Involvement

Within these areas, the Research Fellows are likely to have a growing track record in research relevant to health and social care research.

This is an exciting opportunity for the two successful Research Fellows to develop their independent research portfolio, working collaboratively with leading academics, key stakeholders and communities. The Research Fellows will have knowledge and experience of developing health / social care / public health research at local, regional, national or international levels.

Skills and experience required

Experience and knowledge relevant to the stated program areas together with experience of collaborating with academic and non-academic collaborators is required. Evidence of experience of submitting at least one external grant application to a major funding body is required. Candidates are expected to be able to demonstrate working on their own initiative to develop research and to evidence communication to a high standard to a variety of audiences..

Qualifications required

You will have an undergraduate honors degree (or equivalent in a relevant discipline) and a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.

Training and support will be provided to enable the Research Fellows to continue to develop a career as a senior academic
