Background

We are seeking to appoint a Programme/ Trial Manager responsible for managing a NIHR-funded research programme PEGASUS - aiming to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease for people with severe mental illness, including a focus on addressing inequalities for people from racialised communities. The programme comprises interrelated studies, including coproduction of a peer supported intervention and a multisite randomised controlled trial.

Responsibilities

The main responsibility will be day-to-day management of the PEGASUS programme, ensuring that research studies are delivered fully and to specified timelines. The post holder will be trial manager of the randomised controlled trial, will supervise a team of lived experience/survivor/service-user researchers, and will liaise with research partners, clinical sites, programme steering committee and Lived Experience Advisory Group.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have experience of managing complex research projects or programmes and supervising research team members, of conducting high quality mental health research, and good knowledge of randomised controlled trial methodology and procedures.
