We are seeking applications for a research fellow at the University of Southampton within the Vision, Learning and Control (VLC) Group in Electronics and Computer Science, to work in the area of deep representation learning for audio data. The position is available on a fixed term basis for 18 months due to funding restrictions, with the possibility to extend the contract for another 18 months.
You will be working on the EPSRC research programme “Active Audition for Robots (Activator)” (https: // gow.epsrc.ukri.org/NGBOViewGrant.aspx?GrantRef=EP/W017466/1) under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Dr Christine Evers. The aim of the project is to enable robots to leverage the motion of their own bodies (‘ego-motion') in order to make sense of life in sound.
