About the Role The accelerator facility provides the successful applicant with an exciting opportunity to further develop their career in an environment that offers internationally unique capabilities together with training and research support for national and international research teams covering a diverse range of research interests and fields including quantum science and quantum technologies and related advanced manufacturing materials and device development, mining exploration and metallurgy, environmental, agricultural and health sciences and space technologies. The successful candidate will develop collaborative research links with researchers and industrial partners from a diverse range of fields both within UoM and externally, and with other universities and external industries.

Your New Team – “School of Physics“ The postdoctoral position is associated with the Experimental Condensed Matter Physics (ECMP) group in the School of Physics, University of Melbourne. The ECMP group undertakes high quality, high impact research in a diverse range of fields including quantum science and quantum technologies development, accelerator-based microanalysis and elemental mapping, and biosciences and bio-engineering. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work in a team of highly motivated researchers and professional staff. The accelerator laboratory is supported through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Scheme (NCRIS) as a node of the Heavy Ion Accelerator (HIA) platform and this position is supported through that program.
