  • About the Role This is a great role for a recent PhD graduate looking to work with industry to address their research needs. The focus will be on the development of a membrane-based process for optimised microalgal culture. This requires someone with biochemical processing skills, who can also analyse the economics of the technology.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct a feasibility study of on microalgae CO2 stripping from an embedded membrane containing a potassium carbonate solvent
  • Undertake a techno-economic analysis on the recovery of value-added proteins and lipids from an upscaled process.
  • Who We Are Looking For

    To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated researcher, with hands on experience in biochemical engineering and the ability to develop economic models of biochemical processes.

    You will also have:

  • A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, microbiology or biotechnology
  • A PhD in membrane technology or in algal processing
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for reporting to our industry partners
