The section Forest and Landscape Ecology, Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management (IGN) seeks an innovative candidate for a position to support research projects. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced person with strong organizational skills and technical and academic background within terrestrial ecology and/or forest ecology that can support and facilitate the research and communication in the projects. The work tasks include administration and communication of our activities in collaboration with academic and technical staff.

The position is scheduled to start 1 April 2024 or soon after.

About us

The Dept. of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management (IGN) has > 400 employees and 25 full professors. It has a broad basis in natural science with 20 research groups covering a broad range of topics within geography, geology, landscape architecture and forest and nature management.

The current position will be affiliated to the section Forest and Landscape Ecology with > 60 employees and will support projects with focus on forest and nature management, biodiversity, biogeochemistry, land-use change, climate, and environmental pressures. We work with basic research as well as nature- based solutions, teaching, and supervision. We offer a lively and international environment.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated, and experienced person with strong organizational skills and technical and academic background within terrestrial ecology and/or forestry. You will support and facilitate internal communication and help implement research in the laboratory and field.

The successful candidate should possess good communication skills in English and sufficient Danish for internal and external communication and in addition have relevant expertise in field and laboratory.

Formal requirements Applicants should hold a MSc in ecology, forestry, nature management or similar. As criteria for the assessment of your qualifications, emphasis will also be on relevant work experience.

Key criteria for the assessment of candidates:

  • A MSc degree in ecology, forestry, nature management or similar. Experience with above- and below-ground ecological processes is an advantage.
  • Experience with organizational work
  • Experience with organizing and conducting field work
  • Experience with laboratory work is an advantage (e.g. one among the following DNA extraction, soil chemistry and processes, insects)
  • Good language and cooperation skills plus networking capacity
  • Terms of employment

    The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

    Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

    Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.

    The position is fixed-term and termiates 31. December 2027.
