Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term (2 years) position as Research Associate - Innovation & Research Officer at the University of Galway.
This position is available immediately for 2 years.
The purpose of the role is the project management and development of a clinical research data analytics infrastructure in clinical epidemiology. Our ambition is to create an Applied Clinical Data Analytics Hub aligned to the MSc programme in Applied Clinical Data Analytics launched in September 2023. This ambitious and innovative project will leverage the existing expertise in data analytics, machine learning, and neural networks, combined with established primacy in clinical trial knowhow and delivery, to become a global leader in the field. In addition, the role comprises coordination, strategic development, and management of the HRB-CRFG Neurovascular Research Group, as well as the programme management of the MSc in Applied Data Analytics, and the MSc in Clinical Research. The candidate should have prior experience in project management, especially in areas of PM software systems. They will require an ability to manage multiple projects with experience in local, national and international collaborations. The role requires the coordination of multiple research groups and stakeholders for collaboration in existing and prospective research projects. Working with the Neurovascular Group within the Clinical Research Facility, the post holder will manage a portfolio of research projects aligned to an active academic research strategy and working with a multidisciplinary team.
Salary: Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale €44,846 - €57,332 per annum, (subject to the project's funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
