  • Commencement Salary: $96,929 (pro rata) per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
  • About the Role

    You will contribute to the research efforts of the Future Industries Institute, and in particular will undertake research on the project titled “Ferromagnetic nanoparticles for targeted hyperthermia treatment of glioblastoma” via a Collaboration Agreement between the University of Newcastle and the University of South Australia.

    You will work to achieve project grant outcomes and will have experience in cell culture and assays related to cytotoxicity (especially DNA damage) in a nanomedicine context.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • A postgraduate qualification in an appropriate Science or Engineering area relevant to the research area
  • Evidence of high quality research output commensurate with the length of research career, which is published and presented in appropriate forums
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated through written work such as research reports, research publications and educational materials, and through effective liaison with external partners, colleagues and students
  • Ability to plan and execute testing and research with stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team
