The role requires expert knowledge in the methods and approaches of the arts and humanities and how this can contribute to place-based policies and practices. Particular subject expertise includes a theoretical/conceptual knowledge of place, people-centred approaches to place, working with non- academic partners, and a detailed awareness of various place-based policies and practices across the four nations of the United Kingdom and internationally.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Take a leading role on developing opportunities for arts and humanities- led research and practice and knowledge exchange initiatives to add value within place-based work.

2. Collect, analyse and interpret data, create, and maintain records and databases, draft Programme outputs

3. Co-create and manage a place-based network.

4. Take a leading role in developing and maintaining collaborations with colleagues across the Programme and in the broader School/College/University and wider community (e.g. Academic and other collaborators/partners).

5. Take a leading role in the identification of potential pathways and funding sources and to assist in the development of proposals to secure funding from internal and external bodies to support future research and Programme Development.

6. Support the communication of the effectiveness of arts and humanities-led approaches in addressing the present and future needs of different places. This includes internal and external communications, the delivery of events and meetings and shaping future research, funding, and externally focused activities.

7. Design and deliver appropriate media to engage with a range of audiences (including academics, policy makers, press, practitioners and the public) and effectively communicate the Programme's aims and outputs. This could include print, digital, video, graphics, social media and webinars.

8. Perform administrative tasks related to the activities of the project and School, including budgets/expenditure.

9. Establish and maintain your research profile and reputation and that of the School/College/University, including establishing and sustaining a track record of independent and joint publications of international quality in high profile/quality refereed journals, presenting at conferences/seminars, enhancing the research impact in terms of economic/societal benefit, gathering indicators of esteem and identifying opportunities for funding and knowledge exchange.

10. Engage in personal, professional and career development, to enhance both specialist and transferable skills in accordance with desired career trajectory.

11. Undertake any other duties of equivalent standing as assigned by the Head of School and/or Programme Director.

12. Contribute to the enhancement of the University's international profile in line with the University's Strategy 2025, World Changers Together, World Changing Glasgow 2025.
