Position Summary

The Department of Community Sustainability at Michigan State University (MSU) is searching for a part- time (20 hours per week) Research Associate to be part of the Urban-Rural Dialogue Pilot. This position will be fixed-term (October 15, 2023 to October 15, 2024), renewable annually, subject to funds availability and a maximum of 60 FTE months (5 years).

Project Description: Research Associate will help conceptualize, design, and implement a social network analysis for 10 groups or 10 participants in an intergroup dialogue on urban-rural social identities. The Research Associate will provide analytical expertise of survey and other data including statistical analysis using STATA for regression and other analyses including factor analysis, survey validity, and reliability analyses. A successful candidate should be able to explain how they might design a social network analysis of a sample of students in a school.

Required Degree

Doctorate -social or natural science related

Minimum Requirements

Required:

  • Social justice educational experience (e.g., intergroup dialogue)
  • Educational background includes best practice of teaching
  • Ph.D. in quantitative methods and educational statistics
  • Ability to help design and implement social network analysis
