Position Summary

Program Development and Support 25%

  • Communicate with our stakeholders (Graduate Students and Postdocs) about professional development opportunities
  • Assist with scheduling and promoting sessions
  • Assist with all aspects of GTAP program management including topic selection based on data, provision of resources, media, printing. Serve as a contact for questions about programming and resources via e-mail"
  • Co-facilitate workshops including pedagogy, policies, DEI Statement workshops, cross-cultural topics including wellbeing, communication, building professional relationships and navigating power dynamics, overcoming barriers)
  • Use data to compile program assessment reports
  • Present and co-present about impact of instructional development programing at meetings and conferences
  • Research/Evaluation 50%

  • Work with supervisor and collaborators on research/publications, analyze qualitative data (ethnographic, narrative, cross-sectional case studies) from interviews, focus-groups, and observations and write up results.
  • Quantitative data analyses using SPSS, R, or other statistical software for program evaluation of instructional development, programs and research activities
  • Complete DEIB- related research in support of domestic and international graduate students and postdocs
  • Co-publish works in practitioner and peer-reviewed journals as co-author
  • Participate in professional development as related to research, evaluation, and curriculum development
  • Outreach & Service 25%

  • Communicate across differences including roles, background, experience
  • Collaborate with TSTN on Trauma-informed teaching and provide expertise and support to various units on holistic educator development
  • Global DEI work as it applies to graduate students and postdocs
  • Co-present at conferences together with Graduate School staff/supervisor at regional and national conferences
  • Promote professional development among postdocs and GTAs

    Doctorate

    Minimum Requirements
  • A Ph.D. is required prior to start of this position
  • Record of published works, presentations, workshop facilitation
  • Qualitative data analyses (ethnographic, narrative, cross-sectional case studies) and quantitative data analyses skills (e.g. SPSS or R) for evaluation and research
  • Evidence of work in graduate and/or postdoc instructional development
  • Experience in teaching, workshop delivery, curriculum development
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated Understanding of issues of DEI and belonging in higher education
  • Strong writing skills
  • Demonstrated experiences in completing projects in a timely manner
  • Basic experience in consulting and mentoring
