Background

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant (early-career researcher or PhD candidate) to join a City St George's University-funded project on “Developing a European Position Statement on self-management for individuals with Adrenal Insufficiency.” Led by Dr Sofia Llahana and supported by the European Society for Endocrinology, this mixed-methods study involves both quantitative and qualitative work to inform patient self-management guidelines. The role includes supporting project operations and data collection; prior endocrinology experience is not required.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will coordinate project meetings, organise participant recruitment, and liaise with local PIs and collaborators across Europe. They will support data collection and analysis, assist in developing the Position Statement survey for Phase 2 of the Delphi study, and prepare research materials to facilitate the study's progress.

Additionally, they will contribute as a co-author on manuscripts for peer- reviewed journals and assist in disseminating findings through presentations at the European Congress of Endocrinology and other scientific meetings.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will hold a first degree (2:2 or above) in a relevant field, such as healthcare, psychology, or social sciences, and have experience in both quantitative and qualitative data collection. They should possess advanced SPSS skills for statistical analysis, demonstrate competency in project coordination, and communicate effectively across diverse teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong track record of meeting project deadlines with excellent organisational skills are essential.
