Job description

Research Assistant GAME-ER Project

Grade 6 ( £30,487 - £36,024)

Fixed term (for a period of 36 months)

Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.

The School of Business, Law and Social Sciences (BLSS) and the School of Design and informatics are both participating in a new research project called GAME-ER (Gaming Clusters Across Multiple European Regions), a 36-month international collaborative project which seeks to research video game clusters across Europe.

The University now seeks to appoint a Research Assistant (Grade 6, 0.5FTE) to assist the project PIs with the research work on GAME-ER.

Reporting to Professor Stefano De Paoli and Dr Darshana Jayemanne, you will be required to support the conduction of the research for GAME-ER with a focus on the Dundee videogames cluster. The empirical work will require supporting the conduction of data collection activities related with the video game industry and education in Dundee. You will also be required to collaborate with the project partners in other countries when required.

You will use you research skills in data collection to contribute to the success of the project.

The role requires a positive attitude toward collaboration in a team, and capacity to conduct research in autonomy.

A full candidate brief can be found above which details the job description, person specification and application details.
