Position Summary
A vacancy exists for an experienced Research Assistant to join our vaccine formulation and development team, based in the School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, UCC. The research builds on our significant expertise in developing and commercialising novel vaccines and delivery platforms. This project focuses on developing novel formulations to stabilise vaccines out of cold chain. This project will utilise pharmaceutical and 3D printing methods and principles to enhance the stability of a live vaccine. The research requires prior expertise in biopharmaceutical formulation and in the use of automated liquid dispensing equipment.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated scientist in the pharmaceutical and vaccine sciences, with an ability to work to a high standard. The scientist must have direct experience of working in vaccine or biopharmaceutical formulation in a commercial environment and must have prior experience of working with vaccine-based dissolvable microneedle patches. The scientist must have excellent communication motivation, planning, organising skills and previously demonstrated innovation and the ability to work as part of a team. The scientist must hold a degree in Pharmacy and/or a pharmaceutical or life sciences field. Preferably, the scientist will have expertise in virus vectored vaccines.
The salary will be commensurate with experience.

Post Duration: 5 Months, Whole-Time.
Salary: €31,962 - €41,943 per annum, IUA Research Assistant Scale.
