The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care is one of the major schools of public health in the Asia-

Pacific region, committed to excellence in education and research in public health and primary care. It maintains strong

international connections with schools of public health, government departments and centres of disease control in the

outstanding candidates for Research Assistant Professorship.

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

Education: A Ph.D. in microbiome science, preferably with a focus on public health.

Experience: Significant postdoctoral experience in human cohort studies, particularly in large-scale birth cohorts. Expertise in developing and applying bioinformatics and machine learning tools for microbiome analysis and epidemiology research is essential.

Analytical Skills: Ability to create analytical frameworks to disentangle host-microbe interactions in early life using multi-omics data.

Commitment: A strong dedication to research excellence, teaching, and mentorship.

Publications: Demonstrated expertise in the relevant research areas, as evidenced by publications in high-impact international journals.

Teamwork: A strong sense of responsibility and a collaborative spirit.

The appointee will (a) apply for external competitive research grants; (b) participate and/or develop in independent and/or collaborative research projects; (c) coordinate research projects and publish peer-reviewed papers; (d) be involved in teaching, student supervision and related administrative duties.

Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for up to three years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance, funding availability and mutual agreement.
