The Department of Philosophy at CUHK is the biggest philosophy program in Hong Kong. It is pluralistic, with equal strengths in analytic, Chinese, and Continental philosophy. The Department now invites applications for a non-tenure track position as Research Assistant Professor in Continental/Comparative philosophy to conduct a research project titled Imagination and Schematism: Philosophical Implications from the Distinctive Attributives of the Chinese Language and Script. This project demands proficiency in the Chinese language and familiarity with the philosophical theories of Kant, Humboldt, Husserl, and Heidegger. Salary Competitive.
Applicants should have a PhD in philosophy with expertise in Continental and/or Comparative Philosophy by the time of employment. Duties include, among others, (a) pursuing academic research and publications; (b) applying for external research grants; (c) teaching philosophy or general education courses; and (d) assisting in administrative work in the Department, College, Faculty, and University.
