The Department of Electronic Engineering (EE) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is seeking outstanding candidates for Research Assistant Professorship (RAP). CUHK is a top-ranking research-leading university. Its EE Department is ranked 23rd in electronic engineering amongst best universities globally (US NEWS University Ranking 2023).
RESEARCH AREA OF INTEREST
Antenna engineering, Microwave engineering, Radar systems, Synthetic aperture radars
Applicants should have:
(a) a PhD degree in antennas, microwave engineering, radar systems or related subjects;
(b) preferably proven expertise in antenna engineering or synthetic-aperture radar systems;
(c) fluency in written and spoken English, good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, a strong sense of responsibility, and self- motivation;
(d) outstanding academic records/publications;
(e) postdoctoral experience or equivalent qualification;
(f) in-depth research and clear teaching statements; and
(g) preferably though not compulsory successful records in securing research grants and teaching records.
The appointee will work closely with Professor Steven Gao in the Department to enhance the existing strengths. The appointee is expected to:
(i) be able to have top-tier research outputs and apply for RGC GRF grants and similar external competitive grants;
(ii) undertake some teaching duties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and
(iii) provide service at departmental, faculty and/or university levels.
