Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Science , to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Social Gerontology, Gerontechnology, they should demonstrate strong competency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese). Those with post- doctoral research experience, especially a strong background in gerontology research and an excellent track record of publications are preferred.
The appointee will lead a team of researchers to engage in high impact research to improve the quality of life of older adults and their caregivers. He/She will assist the Principal Investigator to plan, coordinate, and implement data collection activities; conduct data analysis; prepare presentations, manuscripts, and reports; supervise Research Assistants; and perform any other relevant tasks as assigned. There will be ample opportunities to work with local and international research professionals as well as stakeholders in the local community. He/She will also support on other relevant tasks as assigned by the Centre's Director.
