Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neuroscience seeks a research appointee at the rank of Research Assistant Professor to join the Innovation in Population Health Center. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. The University of Chicago offers a wide range of benefits programs and resources for eligible employees, including health, retirement, and paid time off. Information about the benefit offerings can be found in the Benefits Guidebook.

The Innovation in Population Health Center has a long history of developing person-centered assessment tools, decision-support models, and data-driven strategies to improve behavioral health and human service systems. Grounded in Transformational Collaborative Outcomes Management (TCOM), this work integrates research, statistical analysis, training, and implementation support to translate information about individual needs and strengths into actionable guidance for service planning, quality improvement, and outcome monitoring.

The appointee will initially conduct academic research in collaboration with a faculty member or team, participating in one or more of the ongoing research projects involving the development and application of statistical methods to behavioral health assessment and service data, including longitudinal analysis of needs and outcomes, evaluation of service utilization, and validation of decision-support algorithms, but will be expected, over time, to develop their own independent research agenda and grant portfolio.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must have: 1) a doctoral degree or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics, or related field and 2) completed postdoctoral training in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related quantitative research area.

We especially welcome applicants with expertise and experience in statistical methodology development, longitudinal and functional data analysis, mixed-effects modeling, Bayesian methods, and analysis of observational health data, with applications to behavioral health services and population health research. Assessment of applications will consider publication record, experience with collaborative research, track record, and potential to obtain extramural funding.

To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago‚ Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications: https://apply.interfolio.com/195499. Applicants must upload a CV including bibliography and research statement. Review of applications ends when the position is filled.
