BackgroundThe Department of Sociology and Criminology has established an international reputation as a centre of excellence in the research and education. The Department has been ranked 5th nationally and 1st in London in the 2021 REF. It offers an exceptional and varied programme of study at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and runs a well-established PhD programme. The Department is home to high-profile research centres including: the Centre for Justice Reform; the European Social Survey (ESS) centre, the Violence and Society Centre, the Work and Society Centre, and the new Centre for Online-Safety, Safeguarding, Privacy and Identity (COSPI). The job purpose: 'INTERFACED- Interfaces for Democratic Participation: Deliberation, Mobilization and Contestation Since the Onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic' is a three-year Horizion Europe project that seeks to reinvigorate democratic governance and empower active and inclusive citizenship. By distinguishing participation interfaces between citizens and representative institutions, it examines their capacity to include citizens within decision- making and governance.
ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of the role will include:
Candidates will need to have a degree, a Master's degree in a relevant discipline, experience of desk research and experience of undertaking an independent research project.
