We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant in Renal Therapeutics to join the Oxford Kidney Pathology Group. This is an opportunity to join a friendly and collaborative team as part of a new project to address an area of unmet need in kidney disease. You will be working as part of an international consortium, with the overallproject goal to develop a safe and efficient cell therapy based on genome edited T cells for IgA nephropathy (IgAN). The post is based at the Centre for Human Genetics, Nuffield Department of Medicine.

Under the supervision of Dr Katherine Bull, you will be responsible for the development, management and admiration of key aspect of the academic research. You will undertake the research project by performing laboratory research involving a wide spectrum of molecular and cellular approaches. You will contribute to the publication of research findings in high quality journals, attend appropriate scientific seminars and meetings and be up to date. Additionally, you will participate and contribute directly to scientific discussion with members of the laboratory and co-workers in other groups. You will work closely with other members of the laboratory ensuring everyone's safety and help in the supervision of students.

It is essential that you hold a degree in Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology or related Biological Science. You will have working familiarity with practical molecular laboratory techniques (for example: cell culture and ELISA), together with a general interest in molecular biology. You will have excellent communication skills in order to communicate effectively within a group and ability to undertake collaborative research projects. Having experience and interest in renal pathology, gene editing in vivo work or histology techniques is desirable, but training and support will be provided.
