Duties: The Madison lab at Brandon University hiring one experienced assistant to help with field and molecular research in laboratories at BU. Central duties include: -Outdoor field work; environmental sampling in the Assiniboine River Basin -Intermediate Molecular lab work; extracting nucleic acids, PCR, sequencing, etc -Preparing scientific reports to publication

Qualifications/Experience: -Background knowledge and experience in molecular biology laboratory work is mandatory. e.g; (e/D/R)NA extraction and amplification) -Research experience with filtration and extraction of nucleic acids from mixed environmental sample media, as well as data processing and analysis from field sample sites. This includes the possibility of working with live animals and/or animal tissues. -An Undergraduate Degree with research experience (e.g., 4-year honours) degree in Biology or related disciplines
