Research Assistant II in the School of Public Health (Ref.:525770)

The appointee will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co- PIs to assist in developing and implementing a teaching and development research project to enhance the pedagogical strategies on Occupational Medicine counselling amongst the MBBS students. Under the supervision of the PI, he/she will support data collection, analysis, and production of teaching materials to improve the learning outcomes of students enrolled in Occupational Medicine courses.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews and gather relevant data related to the project
  • Handle data, data entry and management
  • Support the design and implementation of the research project
  • Support the engagement with research stakeholders
  • Assist the team to identify areas for improvement in the pedagogical strategies based on the outcomes of the research
  • Assist the development of evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of the pedagogical strategies
  • Assist the production of teaching and learning materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, epidemiology, public health or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in research, study design, proficiency in R, multivariate analysis, univariate analysis, qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Knowledge and skills in systematic review analysis and literature review
  • Experience in producing multimedia materials (e.g. poster, simple videos) is a plus
  • Good communication and organization skills, attention to details
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

    What we offer:

    The appointment will commence in April 2024 on an 8-month temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
