Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref: 524507) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Biomedical/Biological Sciences or Bioinformatics or a related scientific discipline. They should have a good command of written and spoken English; excellent organizational skills; a strong sense of responsibility; ideally proficiency in one computer language (e.g. Python, Perl, R etc). Knowledge of microbiology, microbial genetics and genomics is highly desirable. Preference will be given to those with interest in pursuing postgraduate studies (M.Phil. or Ph.D.) and good capability in bioinformatics to fulfil research aims.
The appointee will work in a research group with a focus on microbial genomics and antibiotic resistance under the supervision of Dr. P.L. Ho/Dr. H.L. Cao.
