Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 526896) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a higher certificate or above, preferably in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, Public Health, Laboratory Techniques, or related disciplines. They should also have good computer knowledge and IT skills, and a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

The appointee will join a multidisciplinary research team and assist in routine fieldwork sampling and genomic sequencing, surveillance work, basic sample processing, fieldwork equipment maintenance, laboratory tasks coordination, data recording, entry and filling, database maintenance, and other duties as assigned. He/She is expected to work in a team, with self- motivation, a strong sense of responsibility, and willingness to learn new techniques on a need basis. Those with fieldwork or molecular biology experiences related to biological research studies would have an advantage.
