Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences, School of Public Health (Ref.: 524195) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in data science, statistics, informatics or related disciplines. They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. They should be organized, attentive to details, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Experience in data management using Excel, Access, Prism, R or other statistical packages, or conducting wet-lab experiments would be advantages. Those with more experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.

The appointees will be primarily responsible for management of data generated from multidisciplinary research on the virologic, immunologic and epidemiological aspects of respiratory virus infections such as influenza and SARS-CoV-2. Appointees will enter, clean, and verify data; maintain databases; and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
