Research Assistant I / II (several posts) in the Department of Clinical Oncology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 523972) (to commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification, preferably in Biomedical Science, Statistics or related disciplines. Experience and/or interest in project coordination and clinical research would be preferred. Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility; good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; a good command of written and spoken Chinese and English; and the ability to work independently, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and with external parties.
The appointees will be deployed to various cancer centers of Hospital Authority to execute one of the largest clinical genomic projects in Hong Kong. They will assist clinicians to screen and recruit cancer patients for next-generation sequencing genomic test; prospectively follow-up cancer patients for treatment outcomes; handle daily logistics of genomic test ordering; data entry, quality check and monitoring; and perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Training on the use of clinical information system will be provided. Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 522622) need not re-apply.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
