Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 524069 ) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in biomedical science, public health, or other healthcare-related disciplines. Those with previous experience in epidemiological research would be preferred. They should have a good command of written English and spoken Cantonese; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; and good problem-solving, communication, organizational and administrative skills. They should be self-motivated, highly committed, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
The appointee will contribute to community-based studies on the epidemiology and vaccine responses of respiratory virus infections (e.g. influenza) in Hong Kong. He/She will assist in data collection and entry; prepare reports and presentations; provide administrative support; and perform other duties as assigned. Specific on-the-job training will be provided for those who intend to pursue postgraduate studies.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
