Research Assistant I/II (holding the functional title of Senior Data Analyst/Data Analyst) in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 526729) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in Public Health, Biomedical Sciences or Statistics. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and have the ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team. Knowledge of statistics or big data analysis, and interest in pursuing postgraduate study (M.Phil. or Ph.D.) would be advantageous. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Those with higher qualifications and/or more experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.

The appointee will evaluate public health service, pharmacoepidemiology and epidemiological studies on non-communicable diseases using 3 million population-based cohorts in Hong Kong and 8 million United Kingdom. He/She will prepare literature review; perform data analysis; prepare academic publications and reports for funded projects; and the tasks assigned by the supervisors. On-the-job training in advanced programming (R and Stata) will be provided. The post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop a research career involving advanced statistical programming and big data cohort analysis.
