Duties: Synthesis of organometallic complexes and precursors; characterization of coordination complexes by NMR spectrosocpy and Mass spectrometry; Catalysis and elucidation of organic products. The candidate will also assist in duties related to regular lab-maintenance, cleaning of glassware, writing reports and articles and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience: A candidate who is highly motivated in inorganic and organometallic chemistry and catalysis is sought for a Research Assistant – I (RAI) position. At the time of application, the student must be enrolled in a college or university; knows how to prepare standard reagents and solutions in a chemistry lab and ideally would have taken general, organic and inorganic chemistry courses. Excellent communication skills and aptitude in writing and presentation is critical. Working knowledge of handling air- or moisture- sensitive chemicals highly desirable. General chemistry aptitude, laboratory skills and GPA will be taken into consideration.
