Research Administrator TOPIC Research Group

We are looking to appoint a Research Group Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support for The Oxford Psychological Interventions in Childhood and adolescence (TOPIC) research group led by Professor Cathy Creswell. The team aims to improve outcomes from and access to psychological interventions for child and adolescent mental health problems.

The post is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter in Oxford. The post is full time; however, consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro-rata basis This post is for a fixed term (funded to 30-Nov-25).

You will be a key point of knowledge, advice, and support for the TOPIC Admin Team and wider TOPIC research group. You will manage a range of enquiries, both routine and urgent, from colleagues, researchers, students, clinicians, and participants in research projects. You will use judgement to determine what information should be communicated to other team members, delegate tasks to junior administrative colleagues, and support senior administrative colleagues.

You will take responsibility for the TOPIC Research Group HR. You will also be responsible for day-to-day financial processing on behalf of the group, including financial procurement of goods and services using R12 Oracle Financials, and making arrangements for UK and international travel for the group and visitors using KeyTravel. You will maintain, devise, and implement efficient systems for finance, administration, and HR across the group.

You will be educated to A Level standard or equivalent with previous experience of working in a fast-paced office administration environment and undertaking complex tasks, (experience in in a medical/academic/research environment and/or operations and administration team would be desirable). You will have experience of supporting a senior member of staff with administration, finance, and HR, and of working in an administration team using shared systems. You will have excellent numeracy, communication, and computer skills. The ability to manage and prioritise a varied and busy workload and work to deadlines are essential skills.
