The University of Bath Residence Life department houses over 5,000 students throughout the academic year and during the summer month's external companies use our accommodation services for conferences, summer camps and away days.

We have a vacancy for the role of Operations Caretaker in our student accommodation. As an Operations Caretaker you will ensure that the properties and grounds are inviting, well maintained and safe. You will spend a lot of your day out and about around the accommodation taking a proactive approach to ensure the accommodation is maintained to a high standard, either by carrying out reactive and planned maintenance tasks in occupied bedrooms and communal areas, or liaising with the Operations Team Leader to instruct the Maintenance Teams to attend. You will act as the eyes and ears for the Operations Team Leader for issues throughout the property and ensure they are reported promptly and professionally. You will also be responsible for ensuring the accommodation is ready for use by arriving students or commercial guests, and that cleaning and waste removal SLAs are achieved.

Experience in a maintenance role is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided. You must be personable, self-motivated and able to demonstrate a flexible and positive ‘can do' attitude.

Full details of this role are included in the job description.

The role requires you to work 5 days out of 7, therefore weekend working is expected.
