Position Summary:

The Faculty of Music, Wilfrid Laurier University, requires part-time contract teaching faculty (CTF) to teach the course listed below in the Spring Term 2023 to be taught at the Waterloo campus. Following is a brief description of the course to indicate the content and level of difficulty. Application items below suggested as optional are strongly recommended. Inclusion and assistance is also required regarding any teaching work that follows AODA guidelines for students requiring and requesting assistance with their coursework and learning. We would be happy to provide additional information that may be required. Supervisors are provided with a course syllabus by the Laurier Graduate Music Therapy coordinator; the inclusion of a sample syllabus as part of the application process is not necessary.

MU610 - Music Psychotherapy Placement V

This course is a full-time clinical placement. Students gain advanced clinical experience in music psychotherapy with groups and individual clients and further develop their music psychotherapy skills in every level. Weekly supervision is provided by Laurier Faculty who are qualified and experienced music therapists. The supervisors ensure the solid integration of the internship experience with academic learning. Prerequisites: MU601, MU602, MU603, MU604, MU607.

Qualifications – Required: Master's degree in Music Therapy or equivalent.

Qualifications – Other: CRPO RP (independent practice status with evidence) and CRPO supervisor's qualifications; MTA in good standing with supervision status. CAMT approved supervisor. 30 hours supervision course (self-declared), 5 years clinical music psychotherapy experience.

Qualifications – Asset: Clinical Music Psychotherapy experience, record of scholarship

Salary: Hourly rate of pay for Music Therapy supervision: $58.11 - $79.14 per hour plus 5% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation.
