  • About the Role Champion the implementation of an innovative school-university-community partnership in the Wodonga region. Forge robust alliances with regional schools and community stakeholders, facilitating seamless professional experience placements for pre-service teachers, and nurturing pathways into graduate employment. Collaborate closely with academic leaders from The University of Melbourne and LaTrobe University and the project team to ensure enriched and successful placement experiences, contributing to a lasting positive impact on education and community growth across the region.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and managing partnerships with schools, cultural groups, and community stakeholders, in supporting pre-service teachers through their professional experience placements.
  • Delivering tailored support for pre-service teachers, including inductions and workshops for them and mentor teachers.
  • Develop materials to support pre-service teachers in connecting with the community.
  • Managing pre-service teacher placements: collaborating with schools, securing placements, assisting with accommodation, and providing ongoing support.
  • Advocating for the region needs at meetings, managing regional reporting, and coordinating data collection for program evaluation.
  • Who We Are Looking For You live in Wodonga and have a strong understanding and connection to the community. You possess strong interpersonal skills to build successful relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Your commitment to continuous improvement and ability to manage complex matters within tight deadlines ensures high-quality outcomes. Your track record of delivering results, coupled with an understanding of regional Victoria's teacher shortages and initial teacher education, are key assets in this role.

    You also have:

  • A qualification in education/teaching-related field with administration/management experience.
  • Experience in delivering high quality outcomes, while managing issues and risks.
  • The ability to independently monitor, document and report on activities, while contributing effectively to a team.
  • A valid Victorian Driver's License and have access to a reliable car.

    The successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
